Safety Policy

My priority is to ensure the Bridesmaids and Bride's Escort and Bride arrive at the church or place of ceremony on time, and to ensure Bride and Bridegroom arrive at the reception in good time. However, whilst travelling with 'One Man and His Jaguars' your personal safety is my first concern. I would wish to ensure all passengers arrive safely and comfortably at the destinations and to that end I have developed the following policy for travel in my motorcars:

Background

I have 40 years driving experience and I am a member of the British Chauffeurs Guild and the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club. My other drivers are my son, my daughter and my son-in-law, all of whom have been driving for over 13 years. The motorcars are insured for wedding hire with Direct Chauffeur Line (insurance includes passenger and public liability) and are serviced regularly. The Jaguar MK2 was last MoT'd 6/05/08, the Daimler VDP on 31/01/08 and the Morris Cowley on 9/09/07. All vehicles are coverd for breakdown assitance.

Closing Doors and Exhausts

All members of the wedding party will be excited by the day's events so all should take care to avoid fingers being caught in closing doors when close to the car and standing close to the hot exhaust pipes to the rear of the car. Parents or custodians of young bridesmaids are asked to take particular care of 'small fingers' near doors and 'little legs' when walking around the rear of the car.

Travel Speed and Seat Belts

I will always abide by the road speed limits but in general will normally travel no faster than 30mph to and from locations, thus ensuring the appropriate dignity of the occasion. I will make the journey as comfortable as possible and in accordance with the law I would ask that all passengers wear seat belts (where fitted) at all times while the car is moving. A child's seat and a booster cushion are available for use in the VDP if necessary. Due to the years of manufacture, the MK2 does not have rear seat belts and the Morris has no seat belts, front or rear; both cars are quite legal and can legally accommodate younger members of the wedding party, however, clients are advised to seek advice from the proprietor when making a booking that involves children under 136cm in height.

No Smoking

In accordance with the law, passengers are respectfully requested not to smoke whilst in the car. This will help to ensure a comfortable and safe journey for all and a fresh car for future couples.

Accessories

Complimentary champagne is served in the car to the Bride and Groom after the ceremony on the way to the reception. The Bride and Groom are reminded that the champagne bottle, ice bucket and champagne flutes used in the car are all made of glass. Whilst the bottle and the ice bucket are relatively substantial, the champagne flutes are quite naturally a little fragile. The Bride and Groom are therefore requested to take particular care with their flutes whilst the car is moving so as not to cause themselves harm or cause damage to their special clothing through spillage. Napkins are available for protecting clothing if necessary.
The flowers on the rear shelf of the motorcars are made of silk and very light. They are positioned on a plastic tray with a non-slip matt underneath and are secure.

First Aid Box and Fire Extinguisher

Should this equipment be required it is carried in the boot of each motor car.
